Lambtown! and more spinning

After a mostly sleepless night, Ken and I headed over to Dixon on Saturday for Lambtown! We had a little confrontation with the over-zealous security guys (seriously, it's 95 and above and you won't let people bring in electrolyte drinks? And, really. It's Dixon. No terrorists are going to bomb sheep in Dixon), but then headed in for lamby goodness. I took a quick tour of the standard/cheesy fair-goods, then chatted up the Ravelry folks. Ken discovered that somehow he's gotten celebrity status among the fiber people - he had a couple folks walk up to him and say "Hey, are you Ken?" LOL. Yeah, Ken, that's what happens when you wear kilts all the time! He even had someone take pictures with him LOL.

Meanwhile, I shambled my zombiefied way through the fiber halls and came home with a nice stash of spinning fibers from Tactile/A Verb for Keeping Warm. Verb had a great camel/silk in a pink colorway, and Tactile had some flax and hemp I picked up to try out. Pretty!

Lunch was marvelous bbq lamb sandwiches. (Knitters in my Tuesday group look at me in horror at how much I love to eat lamb. So damn funny.) That gave me enough energy to make it another hour or so. We checked out the mohair judging for a bit, then petted some angora rabbits (I got a 4oz bag of fluff for cheap!) Then onward towards home and naps.

So how's that Tour de Fleece doing?
1. Spinning every day. Yeah, well life sometimes gets in the way. I'm spinning mostly every day, so I'm not feeling like I've failed too badly.

2. Garment. Been slacking, but I should have enough yardage plyed on the bobbin to finish up the sweater. Just need to be home long enough to wash the skein! Not gonna happen this week, probably!

3. Having fun with my Joy. I found a perfect complement to the BFL in silk from Tactile, so I'm spinning up a laceweight silk singles which I'll ply with each bobbin of BFL. Then I'll cable ply. Should look really nice.

4. Loom. Still pending.

5. iPhone. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Ha!

6. Megan over. Still working on that, too.
